Zadig & Voltaire

I've always been a great fan of Zadig & Voltaire ... their style is casual chic, jeune Parisiènne meets GI Jane with some extra bling.
I'm a recycler and when I sell something in our local second hand store, I treat myself to something new. That's how I got the army blouse slash coat.
The fabric is heavy enough to be worn as a jacket and the compliments I got on this number have been awesome. The little details make the jacket feminine but also a little tomboy-ish.
The military style is hot now and luckily available in many stores ; I can step out of my black & navyblue numbers, stay basic and simple in my fabrics choice. Think Garance Doré ; she could be THE perfect Zadig & Voltaire girl.
Check out their online store ; I'm sure you will be seduced in buying that little MICK of IGGY tunisien (shirt) !

My treat !

I've been really sick over the past few days and the only advantage was that I've lost about 2 kilo's ...not to bad when everybody is piling on the extra pounds 'cause of their heavy Christmas meals...
Yesterday I've got a call from my BHF H. and she told me to go to the Hermès store 'cause we could have a preview on their sales !!
As I am a good friend and always do what I'm told :-) -- I ran off after closure to the Schuttershofstraat and when I entered the store Wendy (she's so sweet) started laughing...She knew I'd received the phonecall from H.
Hermès can be very classic and I only saw this beautiful trenchcoat but the price was still high, even minus the discount...(hey, the credit crunch does gives us a conscience I guess...)
I then went down to the scarves and as I'm really into the geometrical designs, I asked if there was still one left in a brownish colour.
And there was !
Even got this nice little cardbox wich explains us how to use and tie a Hermès scarf.
After the lessons and my personal little box, I'm happy to show you one way how to tie a(ny) carré scarf.
Also added a picture of me, myself and I of yesterday evening, just before I could enjoy my first real meal again after my (inconvenient) diet...

Retail therapy

I guess it must be 'girls only' or a hormonal thing...sometimes I can't just find the right stuff...My head is craving for that something that keeps haunting my brain...
Stupid and I admit a luxury 'problem' ...
But a girl's gotta do what a girl has gotta do ...
I've told myself a couple of years ago I wouldn't waist my money and time on a therapist ever again...it just made me feel even worse and in my case it's just better to bury all what has been in the past deep down away and give over to some ol' fashioned retail therapy !!
Maybe as expensive as a shrink but it makes me feel so much better in finding that special item.

So - after seeing in many mags and Sartorialists, the furry (fake or real) bodywarmer - I've been on a quest for the perfect one to find....Last year I've bought a furry rabbit bodywarmer with a high collar at Essentiels....Good for wintery walks in the country - not to show off on a silk dress inside a restaurant or party...
I've had a similar furry 60ies look leopardprint coat, also nice for an showstopping entrance, not to keep on the entire evening...
Last week in Paris I was hoping to find something very special and hopefully from a brand not seen yet in Antwerp.
Abroad I never go into a shop that is also available in my hometown except for a Chanel shop.
So the search was pretty soon over and at Chanel I did not see anything near a furry bodywarmer, only these pretty little purses and clutches with French poodle-lish 'hair' on the sides ...

Back in Antwerp today I started walking, nothing in mind and aha...what did my eye see ?
THE bodywarmer I was searching for all along...A fine flat darkblue real fur version, perfect fit and a good basic colour to go with a lot of other colours...Thank you Sandro, beautiful shop at Hopland....you're on my wishlist-shops for ever ...

And to make it complete I treated myself on a darkblue Chanel (what else) nailpolish...
Will go extremely well with my new furry addition in my closet ...

Schuttershofstraat, near the Horta café

Isn't this a great start ?
It took me less than 10 pictures to find this great shot !
And have I seen many beautiful people, in only 1 hour !
Even my daughter who assisted me, has already "the eye" of what will make a great picture !

So, this lady was waiting on the corner of the Horta café and the Chîne boutique ; standing there with her flashy green trousers ! A real showstopper, no ?
If you look carefully, you'll see her amazing checkered bag with embroidered flowers. And this bag matches so well with the rest of her outfit.
