A full client card (yesssss !)

Last week, darlin' hubby bought himself a D&G suit...a beautiful suit, a brown one and it was the last item to complete our (well, more his...) client-card...
I don't know if you guys are familiar with this, but down here we are suckers for client-cards and their extra amount you get once it's  completed (10 items, added up and 5 or 10% calculated on this total amount)...
So, yesterday I went down to Verso (again, I know) and looked for a raincoat...as it's always raining down here lately and my wintercoat is getting to hot...I thought to myself, why not spend the amount on something useful...(any excuse is as good as the next....)
I tried to hunt down a picture on the internet and found one through Google...my coat was presented as a part of a "business-look-chilly-days"...so not a too bad choice, right ?
The brand was not unknown but the 1st time I bought it...
A picture of me wearing the coat will follow pretty soon....

Debbie & Sprouse

She's an icon to me !

I've never been a big Louis Vuitton fan (too many fakes going around and it's getting hard to tell wich ones are real and those who are not) but the wild animal print scarf with the Stephen Sprouse spray on it...I must say, I've never been like this but this number has been going through my mind forever these past weeks..I guess the people from the LV-shop in Antwerp must have been wondering why each morning, a greasy nose print was on their windows...:-O
Asked the price 3 times, rang to call if it was a 'keeper' (it is, in fact the brown one is...the other colours were season related), tried it on and asked my BHF Hilary what she thought and she loved it...
Now, the only thing that held me back was the price tag and the fact that I was even considering another scarf...(cold turkey, as I'm trying to cut down on buying scarves...it's getting ridiculous)
But in Paris - everything looks nicer - bigger - better and when a husband just pushes you over the limit (come on, it looks so chique...) hell yeah, I went for it and it didn't leave my neck since last Tuesday !
Silly woman, you all must think..ok, fair enough...but when I hear the shallowness of some women - and the way they are thinking about real issues (that prostitutes are disgusting, a killer should have no trial and be sent to prison for life, I'm a fan of Sarkozy...(is he in politics ?) and some other things that were too bad to write down...) I know I deserve some bit of shallowness too...let it be a scarf....:-)

PS heard those comments somewhere in Antwerp, getting a manicure and it was near one of the oldest bakeries in town, where there's always a queue to get in (for the insiders, they will KNOW where it's at - so, if you wanna get your nails done, don't go there !! It will make you even more nervous and getting a manicure, should be a relaxing thing, right ?)

Nothing like a hot cup of coffee and a sugar waffle

when waiting to get in a museum in Paris is gonna take for hours ...

Musée d'Orsay

The magical clock of the former trainstation

The lovely restaurant space in the museum - the clock really worked - I was seated just in front of the clock - each minute I heard the pointer make a noise and move over to the next minute

Some pieces of the Art Nouveau and Art Déco rooms - in Brussels you have a special route where you can see houses designed by Victor Horta. In Antwerp you must visit the Horta café where original pieces of the Innovation of Brussels were re-used after a fierce fire that ruined the entire building...

The museum is too grand to visit in 1 day ; but this work 'le déjeuner sur l'herbe' of Manet, I really wanted to see for real...

Cat in a bag

A cat in a bag is not what I am going to buy....

You've got mail ! Look what I found in the post ! And it wasn't a bill or obituary...:-/
A month to soon but I don't mind (better to soon than too late) ...
I gave all my details to the DVF shop last time and they promised me to send me something for my birthday...am very happy

Inspiration and getting ready for Paris (again)

the room (purple and pink)

the restaurant of our hotel

We doubted so hard this time...should we go - shouldn't we - London, Barcelona, Rome .. Paris again ?
Well, the best thing about Paris is...we get in the car, drive and try to locate our hotel after just 3 hours tops !
Isn't that just great ! I must admit after so many times, I always get a rush of excitement when I see the Eiffeltower popping up...
So, Sunday morning we will be headed to France, just the 2 of us...
You see, Valentine's day doesn't always fall on February 14th...:-)

Mon chéri, Darwin and "you've got mail" soundtrack in the background

Not my favourite chocolate treat but I found this way up in a kitchen cupboard ...
So reading in a book I bought my husband, enjoying the sugary alcoholic juice and trying to pull out the cherry with my tongue...:-)
Pretty digusting but hey, I'm in the privacy of my home so....

Anne Zellien (the sequel...)

I so love Anne's collection and we keep in touch quite often by sending text messages on whatever tickles our fancy...
Anne send me a text-message last week that one of the pluche brooches I sell in my store (*scroll down to the last post of this blog-page) featured in a magazine last week...I still had to give her my last months Beau Monde (also a magazine) where her collection was presented to the Dutch public...
Passed by her shop this morning and asked if she had received the magazine yet (I didn't hand it over to her personally) and so I could ask her if I could try one of her fantasy earrings I saw in her window display...I'm such a baby and sucker for her collection that I just treated myself to yet another pair of earrings...
I'm not an addict....right ?

Right ?

The Foyer...

the ceiling

Since the creation in 1989 the Foyer has become one of the most famous meeting-places in Antwerp. It's a place to meet, have an apéro, cocktail, happy hour, lunch or tea-time avant-et-après-le-spectacle...
The theatre - were Brasserie The Foyer is situated on the bel-étage floor - was designed in 1827 by city building-master Pierre Bruno Bourla (1783-1866).
The majestic building is a unique witness of late-classical monumental architecture en preserved
(despite numerous en significant adjustments) it's balanced character...

Hilary and me had a play-date in this Brasserie today and enjoyed a USA inspired chicken sandwich with chips and/or potato salad ...
