Retail therapy (part II)

Look at that red nose and pale face (even my hair falls flat next to my ears...)

The Roger Vivier shoes ; aren't they just lovely...I'll keep them next to my bed this evening (I know, I'm pathetic...) and look at them as I fall asleep ....
Jill Sander shirt for hubby...
D&G polo...fabulous colours..trés chique ..

So, to make life a bit more interesting and a shrink is not an option any more for me...I ran (again, as a shop-a-holic I must maintain this title) to Verso yesterday for the last time because the sales are ending today !
I have to say...minus 70% is very tempting and I'm like, hey I'm just gonna buy these beautiful and expensive frocks only in January and July (the only official sales-months in Belgium) if they are giving such a great discount and the choice and my size is still available in a lot of stuff !
So, I bought this lovely Jackie O-ish warm winter dress for a very reasonable price ...
I can't go and look at the new items either without my OOOh's and AAaah's... and for the very first time I saw the most beautiful shoe, a Roger Vivier, exclusive sales-point in Belgium (yes !) at Verso and they were to die for !!
Really, they looked fabulous ! I'm not a shoe addict (I'm more of a scarf-addict as you know) but when I came home last night I blinked my eyes towards my husband a few times more (I know he's a sucker for a high heeled shoe) and gave him the old fashioned hint...
I must say, I'm a very lucky lady and sometimes forget how wonderful he his !
He came to my shop at closing time and said ; hurry up, if you wanna have some shoes !!
We picked out some nice shirt and polo for him too ...(he looked so handsome in his D&G polo...sigh) I'm always even happier for him to suggest and let him buy some nice clothes for himself ...

Retail therapy (part I)

Oh my God !
I keep on sniffing, coughing and sneezing...I look like a clini-clown (red nose and goofy hair) and I don't seem to get any better pretty soon !
This is the first time I've had a cold/flu/tummy ache for so long !
Is it because I'm in daily contact with so many children and people...I guess so.
My husband gave me something to protect me in the future ; MOREPA vitamine-pills with smart fats and fish oil ...(yeah, I know !)
Look at all the other stuff I've been stocking...the best thing is the nose-spray that helps me to stay alive (I can't possibly breathe through my mouth...)
and my zillions of boxes of Kleenex !!

Sebastian and mummy and their hair(do)

This evening Sebastian got into his bath and he likes to comb his hair afterwards...
Do you know the feeling when somebody talks to you and gives you the wonderful hair raise in your neck just at the end of your hairline ... ??
Well, Sebastian decided to comb my hair too and oh my, he gave me this lovely feeling. I took a bit advantage of the situation and told him he was the best person ever to do mummy's hair like this ...so he kept on doing his stuff with the brush ... for an extra 10 minutes more !

Who is the naughtiest of them 2 ?

La muze d'Anvers

Last Friday La Muze d'Anvers opened her doors for the grand public..I couldn't attend the official opening but promised to come and take a look this Sunday - and so we did...
Burlesque and baroque together in one, the beautiful setting for a new 'lingerie and sous-vêtements' was a fact...and my oh my, did we (Stephan and me) love it !
I'll just show you a little peek of what to find and buy chez Tanja and Chantal...it's worth a look if you ever should consider a visit to Antwerp

Diane von Furstenberg

I'm officially a shopaholic ; walked in a terrible windy storm, through the rain...Stumbled to the window of the DVF store and saw a few items on sale for the price of 80$ !!
Yes I can't resist a nice piece of art translated into a dress...
So, I got this tunique (that has the great lenght for a dress too) and I'm very happy ! Still am thinking about the jacket I'm going to wear with this LBD...
What do you guys think ?
Without, leopard skin or biker jacket ?

Mondays I'm free and this is how I like to fill them

I'm not a lazy butt at all !
Oh no !
But I can enjoy my peace and quiet sometimes...Like last Monday, my son and I still recovering from our bronchitis (I sounded like Amanda Lear really...) decided to stay in except to run down to do some errands (also to give Sebastian the idea he went out...)
We are fortunate to have a supermarket in the same block and all we need to do is to go down (-2nd floor) - walk through the public parkinglot and runback in again into our Delhaize...
Isn't that just great ?

So, when feeling sick and having a strange voice...mum decided she deserved a magazine and Sebastian a dvd and something sweet...
Came back home, we enjoyed ourselves and in the end I did watch some old SATC dvd's...
just to get inspired and because they still stay very funny...

Carice van Houten

So, Carice might become very famous now she has filmed next to Tom Cruise and I am thrilled for her !
She showed us she is a great actress indeed (you have to watch Black Book (Zwartboek) if you can)

In my previous post you can see my friend Anouk in one of the Polaroid pics ; she's the one the right - it's the picture of the hen night...and ..she will be thrilled to hear that Carice's second name is also ... ANOUK !

Thanks to Denoto , I've discovered this great link to customize your pictures into old-skool polaroids...
As a child I used to have a polaroid camera and I enjoyed myself a lot with it ! I remember taking pictures of my niece on our holidays ; I still have those picture although the colours have faded...

I'm at home with my youngest son today ; we both recover from a very bad cold (seems I've been bugged by something new each week...) and I'm enjoying this while he his looking at his Pirates dvd's (not the ones from the Carribian ; he does want to see Jack Sparrow though - he keeps asking me over and over - but I think he's a bit too young for that)
I'll just leave you guys with some results of my new discovery...

pics were taken in 2005 at my former home in the garden, my son Sebastian, Stephan & me in 2006 on our honeymoon looking silly, especially me in that 'what was I thinking hat', in 2005 in Koln, me in front of the Hermès store (even without money I loved the label...can imagine my nose print was on their windows next morning) - New Years even from 2005 into 2006 (looking a bit trashy when I see those pics back) - Barbara and Anouk (who's having twins next week) on my hen night (and you won't believe it but that same night my father died and I got married the weekend after, just 2 days after his funeral...so, I'm still unaware in this image) - and my newly wed husband August 19th 2006...with sigar ! (he was dressed by Ann Demeulemeester and Prada)

Is that a duck ?

I'll guess it is...

Have you been tagged yet ?

Well, I've just been tagged by the lovely Rebecca http://princessimp.blogspot.com/

Ten Things I Love:

1. white shirts, good for any occasion
2. my less stressed mornings since one year...
3. nice smelling scents, oils, perfumes...
4. open(minded) people
5. Friday nights
6. having a coffee somewhere in town and being presented a really GOOD coffee with the extra's like a cookie ànd a chocolate
7. ice tea green
8. caprice praline from Neuhauss
9. scarfs (I'm addicted to them and when I feel down I always buy one to feel good again)
10. the innocense of my youngest son

Ten Things I Loathe:

1. Bad smelling people and they ALWAYS stand so close to you...why's that ?
2. meanstream people who follow the rest of the flock and then think they've invented hot water ...
3. too many questions when you only want people to be happy for you ...
4. being sick
5. people that go through the same rituals every single day...(5pm diner, 6pm watching the news, 7pm put on the telly for their soap that has been running for the last 27 years and avoid to go out because they don't want to miss it !!)
6. stupid people who think they are really smart
7. people that steal (I've had to work for it myself a**holes)
8. not having a hankie on me (and then you enter this beautiful Chanelstore and feel you're nose dripping)
9. politics in my country
10. Yves Leterme ; he was our prime minister for a few months and this man was chosen by a majority of mainstream grey people. Turned out that after a few months he was (and still is) a very incompetent guy. I hate to say it but sometimes I'm ashamed to say I'm Belgian (luckily I can speak French without the Belgian accent so people think sometimes I'm from Switserland or Luxembourg...)

5 random facts about me:
1. I speak French, German and English (I've been on Spanish lessons in the past..maybe I'll just pick those up when the kids are older..I do understand it though as Spanish and French are similar)
2. My real name is Dominica but few people know this ; people have always known me as Dominique
3. I think I buy at least a magazine a day...but I do recycle them and lend them out to people I know
4. I was a big Princess Diana fan since I was 11 - I think you can ask me any question about her and I'll know the answer right away
5. I'd like to be taller (I'm only 5'4" and have shoesize 39)

Voilà, and now I'm tagging
Diane

Some pictures of my collection...

I'd like to share a few pictures of the children's clothing I'm selling in my little shop...
I've started just a year ago and it has gone so fast !
In the weeks to come - I'm making choices for next winter's collection...
From what I have seen already it's going to be less fierce - more demure and the colours are all powdery...
The retro and recycling of fabrics is starting to fade away - people go back to good quality and eco-fabrics...

Sienna and her bracelet

I've always found Sienna Miller a great inspiration concerning clothing - effortless, boho and a personal touch to her dress sense...
I saw this recent picture of her and was happy to see how I could wear my similar leopard furry jacket without looking trashy...
On top, I noticed her Chanel bracelet...I've seen the same model down here but in purple and black...might consider it but Chanel bangles cost a fortune and a rather give that amount to a nice little bag ...

Contents

Hilary has lend me a few books this week and one of them is such an inspiration...
It's a book by Kate Spade called 'contents'...
It's about what's in bags and this is something that tells us a lot more about the owner than the outside of a bag...
So...I'm daring you guys/girls, the moment you read this blog, to take everything out of the bag you had on you today, display it and take a picture and please send it over to the following e-mail address (below).
You may also comment on it's content and add some description....
The pictures will be used in a future blogpost ...

Thank you so much !

What cold snap (part II)

While most of us can't wear enough clothes during the cold snap, Kate Moss has taken the opposite approach - stepping out in little more than her underwear.
The British model left a Notting Hill restaurant earlier today wearing brown tweed shorts, black tights and a black tee.
Her trademark sunglasses were firmly in place, and a light jacket was her only concession to the winter chill.

What cold snap ?

While most of us can't wear enough clothes during the cold snap, Lady Gaga has taken the opposite approach - stepping out in little more than her underwear.
The American pop sensation left her hotel in London today wearing sparkly knickers, flesh-coloured fishnets and a crop top.
Her trademark sunglasses were firmly in place, and a light jacket and gloves were her only concession to the winter chill.
