Officially and totally nackered !

I knew it !
And the evening began so well !
All dressed up (pics will follow later, I promise) in my lovely black Derek Lam tunique and sparkly black trousers, high heeled ancle-boots ànd my new raincoat on top, we went off to a quiet and nice dinner at the re-newed Artist, our local eatery...

I was aware that I had to get out of bed very early (first like 7am, a little later we took it down to 5pm to set the alarm clock) to get to school to make sure my daughter and 75 other children that have been on this school like almost 9 years, got subscribed again in the next level of school-hood)
Oh no ! It started already during the day, people coming up to me in the shop (mothers) asking me if I was sure I wouldn't be too late for the subscribtion...
So, as I said, sitting at our table, little and large text-messaged me that they were going to the schoolgate already and be brave and face the line-up of scary parents...(hysteric)...
Had to 'cram' my meal very quickly and while still swallowing my last trail of linguine, Stephan asked Camille for the bill !
What is happening to our country ? Why do we have to camp outside a schoolgate for almost 2 full days just to be sure that our children can continue their school-life in the same building and with their oldest of friends they had since kindergarten ?

Went home, do 7 floors of stairs !!! (hate that elevator) to get changed into a tracksuit and layers of clothes, gloves, a cap and scarf...
Double pair of socks, sneakers and oh yeah, a bottle of water, a snack and my cellphone...
So- instead of enjoying the company of hubby and a nice romantic meal, I was sitting between (mostly) complete strangers...whole night long...
Bonding began and whining about how humiliating it is to get a good school like this for our children after we had been loyal 'customers' to the school for 9 years !
Thank you very much, Minister Frank Van den Broucke, for making school equal to all people ...Did we see any other people but the 75 parents than the ones whe've known for 9 years ?!
Hell no !
Makes you wonder if you made the right decisions on election days ....

@Trooper..that's a great word to print on a tee and then go to school on Monday like that to bring the kids LOL
The people that were all together in this (luckily heated) trailer, bonded pretty soon and I guess you just made some new friends for the next 6 years to come ...Allready have a cappuccino-date for the next weeks to come with a mum I knew before but now come to known a bit better...:-)
But when you tell this to people what you have done ; they all agree it's just a scandal what someone has to do to for your child to have the education in the school you want. Last weekend I saw people caming outside another school since Saturday morning, only to get their childrens subscribed on Mondau ??!! Can you believe that ?
